CTEC has implemented a new and convenient payment option for members.
Members now have the flexibility to pay their bills at various locations such as Walmart, H-E-B, Walgreens, CVS, Check ’n Go, Dollar General, Family Dollar and participating gas stations. The payment process ensures security and efficiency, with payments being promptly posted to members’ accounts in real time. It’s easy to pay your electric bill while you get groceries, gas and more. To use this convenient feature, members simply need to follow these steps:
1. Find a participating location near you in the SmartHub app or on SmartHub online.
2. Find your bar code in the SmartHub app or on the back of your electric bill.
3. Visit the participating location, scan the bar code at the checkout, and make a cash payment.
Additionally, members have the option to make payments at Western Union locations, albeit with the requirement of providing specific account information, such as their name, address, phone number, birthdate and account number.
It’s important to note that while cash and debit cards are accepted, credit cards will not be accepted. Also, a small convenience fee will be charged for each transaction, collected by the participating payment location.
